這是很生活化的問題，原因很簡單，我們會經歷死亡，無人可倖免。
所以擁有對於生死的知識，了解我們人類是從那裡來？今生的目的為何？死後會去那裡？就顯得非常的重要。至少我們不需要恐懼於我們不 知道或不了解的事情，或者錯誤解讀造成內心的恐慌或偏見。
前天，我們教會的在三重的兩位傳教士長老因一氧化碳中毒而死的消息傳出，都令我們感到非常難過，一個是才來到臺灣三個月的美國長老Connor（19），一位是再過半年就要返鄉的熊長老（25）高雄人。
他們都是耶穌基督後期聖徒教會 的傳教士。
其中Thredgold家庭的Tom McHoes(Connor的叔叔)對於Connor長老的過世發表的聲明。(我們教會的弟兄稍微的翻譯了一下，我們很佩服他們家人對神的信心)

就如你能想像到的一樣，我們被通知到我們最小的兒子Connor長老和他的同伴熊長老過世的消息。他們寫到"我們為Connor長老和熊長老獻上最深的思念與祈禱。我們也為在奧克拉荷馬州過世的Vea姐妹的過世趕到難過，我們也同時為他們的家人獻上禱告。
"As you can imagine our family is in a state of shock after being informed of the death of our youngest son Elder Connor Benjamin Thredgold and his companion Elder Xiong," they wrote. "Our deepest thoughts and prayers go to Elder Xiong’s family. We also are saddened by the death of Sister Vea in Oklahoma, and our thoughts are prayers are with her family.
我們收到我兒子傳道部會長范會長夫婦的電話，他們很親切而且說了很多關於我兒子和他在台灣跟臺灣人民的事工。Connor是一位非常快樂的傳教士長老，對天父的事工充滿了愛與活力。我們收到他寄來的每張照片他都笑得非常開懷。
"We received a call from Connor’s Mission President, President Day and his wife. They were so gracious and had so many great things to say about Connor and his work with the people in Taiwan. Connor was such a happy missionary, full of energy and love for his Father in Heaven’s work. Every photo we received he was smiling from ear to ear.
Connor是個父母的好兒子、兄弟姐妹的好手足、姪女子的好叔叔。他熱愛生命，在朋友間也總是伸出援手的好夥伴。
"Connor was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. He loved life and was a good friend and helper to those in need.
"我們為他在台灣的傳道的服務感到驕傲。我們也收到我們的家人、朋友及各界的關愛與服務和代禱。我們知道神的計畫是完美的，也知道Connor被帶回天家並繼續他在台灣開始的傳道服務。他也仍然快樂的在帷幕的另一端。
"We are so proud of him and his missionary service in Taiwan. We have been truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, and service given to us by friends, family, and the public. We know that God’s plan is a perfect plan, and that Connor’s been taken home to continue the missionary service he started in Taiwan. He continues to be happy, and is now in a better place.

LDS missionaries, one from Springville, found dead in Taiwan
Two missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been found dead in their apartment. They were serving in the Taiwan Taipei mission.
