2008-present Future: fourth album
Aguilera described her forthcoming album as "short and sweet" and "completely
different" from Back to Basics,[66] although she did not elaborate on what
the style of the album would be but described it as a "fun album."[67] In a
radio interview with Ryan Seacrest, Aguilera said her recent birth of her son
inspired her upcoming album saying, "I've been brainstorming for the last nine
months of my pregnancy. This next album will have a whole new me. A different
me."[68] In an interview with People magazine Aguilera stated she has began
recording new material for her upcoming album at her Beverly Hills home.[69]
Currently working on projects for his label, Year Round Records, DJ Premier
shared plans to head back into the studio with Christina soon. Premiere said.
"She's doing an all pop album again, but she wants me to keep the tone like
what we did before. She's ready to start next month...She's so cool, she's
like my little sister now."[70]
In an interview with Blender magazine, Aguilera stated that recording a song
with her once rival Eminem is on her agenda.[71]
Mayor of Hollywood, Johnny Grant, announced that in 2008, Aguilera will get a
star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.[72] Aguilera will be featured on the
soundtrack to the film Shine a Light from a live recording of her performance
with the Rolling Stones. The soundtrack of the same name will be released on
April 1, 2008.
