MESA, ARIZONA (TICKER) —The Chicago Cubs signed veteran third baseman Corey Koskie to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training Saturday. Assuming he passes a physical, the 35-year-old Koskie will report to the Cubs after he plays for Canada in the World Baseball Classic. Koskie is attempting a comeback as he has not played in the majors since 2006, when he was with the Milwaukee Brewers. His 2006 season was cut short, however, as he suffered a concussion July 5 against Cincinnati. Koskie was limited to 96 games that year, batting .261 (67-for-257) with 12 home runs and 33 RBI. In parts of nine seasons, Koskie is a career .275 hitter with 124 homers and 506 RBI. He spent seven years with Minnesota (1998-2004) and one in Toronto (2005). -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.171.139.28
