Zumaya and Miller To Join Hens For Rehab...Zumaya Scheduled
To Pitch In Toledo On Saturday, August 18
The health front took another step Saturday when the Tigers set their rehab
plans for Joel Zumaya and Andrew Miller at Toledo.
Zumaya's arm and surgically repaired finger felt fine Saturday after throwing
to hitters on Friday, so he'll join the Mud Hens on Monday in Norfolk and
throw an inning each on Monday,
Wednesday and Saturday. If he comes through that stretch feeling fine and
pitching effectively, his long-awaited return to the Tigers bullpen will
come when Detroit returns home a week from Tuesday.
Miller, meanwhile, has one more side session scheduled in Detroit Sunday
morning. If he gets through that without any setbacks to his strained left
hamstring,he'll make a rehab start for Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday in Richmond.
