DETROIT (TICKER) —The Detroit Tigers further solidified their catching situation on Thursday, agreeing to terms with catcher Matt Treanor on a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Detroit Free Press reported the deal is worth $750,000. The move comes after the Tigers acquired Gerald Laird from the Texas Rangers on December 8 to serve as the team's starting catcher. Treanor appeared in 65 games with the Florida Marlins last season, batting .238 with two home runs and 23 RBI. “Matt is a quality back-up catcher at the major league level and a solid addition to our club,”Tigers general manager David Dombrowski said. "Addressing our catching situation was a priority for us this winter and we feel we have solidified that area by adding both Gerald Laird and Matt Treanor.” In five seasons with the Marlins, Treanor hit .237 with eight home runs and 70 RBI in 274 games. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.171.145.209
