The files itself are not the problem and ptx isn't either. To correctly and fully implement Unix98 we either need a setuid helper app like glibc provided for a while to chown the terminal or alternatively provide a pseudofilesystem for terminals. I'm looking at the second alternative because it is the safer and better approach to this problem. Joerg
