Hmmm, the things you wrote seem to imply that there is a src directory before the failure (which isn't because I moved the one from the first checkout). Or I didn't understand you. :) The sequence of events is: 1) cvs checkout src <=== Successful 2) mv src src.old 3) cvs checkout src <=== Fails We could reproduce the problem on a friend's machine as well.
