OK,
that leaves the question why I have the same symptom (endless db> prompt
loop) on another machine with keyboard connected when I 'boot -d' it. It
seems as if the keyboard is not being correctly detected at this point,
even though it works fine later on (e.g. I can break into ddb then etc.).
