:> being reaped. I couldn't find anything in the logs to suggest why :> the process died, but it isn't there so it must have. :> :> Could you investigate further? Is init or /etc/ttys set up to do :> something or access something that might be causing it to die? It :> sounds like whatever is causing it to blow up is occuring early on. :> :> -Matt :> Matthew Dillon :> <dillon@backplane.com> : :Checked /etc/ttys and nothing weird there. How to check what init is set up to :do? Check that init is even running after booting. If it is, start a ktrace -p 1 (make sure on a filesystem with lots of space). When you start getting zomibes check init again, it should be dead, and scp the ktrace file to leaf. If init is not running then something during booting is blowing it up. Another possibility is that your world and libraries have somehow gotten corrupted and init is having a problem related to that, but I can't imagine the system getting to a login prompt without init so I expect init is running initially. -Matt Matthew Dillon <dillon@backplane.com>
