I don't know if that's related, but with current as of 25.03, I got this
at boot:
sio0: can't drain, serial port might not exist, disabling
and it was impossible to use COM1 as a console.
now after grabing current as of 31.03 it works fine again:
sio0 at port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 flags 0x10 on isa0
sio0: type 16550A, console
