I've been trying to duplicate the issue all day on my SMP test box but
the only problem I've run into is the max kern.ipc.maxsockets issue we
had already talked about. When this problem occurs a
'netstat -tna | wc -l' clearly showed it hitting either the socket limit
or the port range limit.
But this is apparently not what is causing your issue, judging by the
netstat output you've shown us so far (assuming you ran that while the
machine was having the failure).
So, so far I've had no luck on the issue.
