It's because you are using a USB image and the file system somehow got dirt=

I think you can do several things:
1) Just dd the img once more and try again (maybe set write protection on t=
he
USB stick).
2) Login as root and do fsck /dev/da8s1a. When it's finished, reboot cleanl=
y
using "shutdown -r now".
