I've been having issues with parallel builds on my SMP laptop (and I
occansionally see this on ylem). Processes get stuck in the achicam
state, and my disk is pretty much useless after that. I can't get a
core dump, and in fact I can't even get the box to panic:
rama:~# sysctl debug.panic=1
load: 0.00 cmd: zsh 17678 [ahcicam] 0.00u 0.00s 0% 812k
I think Matt has seen this happen on ylem (the rtorrent that couldn't be
killed). I'm not sure what to do about this when the box is in this
state.
I think Sascha has also seen this.
Any suggestions?
