Section 16.2.1.5 of the handbook contains an error; When the kernel is
compiled with the specified option it reports that this option is
unavailable. This is because this option doesn't exist (it's not in LINT
either), it should be a device (there is a device pnpbios). I have onboard
sound myself and with device pnpbios compiled in my kernel and it is
detected, so that is the correct option. Here is a short patch:
