Werner Herzog's version of Bad Lieutenant is due for release some time later
this year, with Nicolas Cage filling the titular character. Perhaps mindful
of this event, members of Blur and New Order have formed a band named Bad
Lieutenant, and have recorded an album scheduled for release in October.

Bass player Alex James is the only Blur member present, and he's clearly
ready to capitalize on the big bucks generated by the band’s well publicized
reunion this year. Perhaps James' cheese making isn't going so well? Bernard
Sumner and Stephen Morris join James in the lineup.

Sumner says he is "very proud" of the record. "It's pretty guitary too because
we've got three guitarists in the band," he told the BBC. A tour to support
the album is expected to follow, while some high profile festival appearances
are already being discussed for 2010.
