Andrea Parker in Desperate Housewives

There’s a new woman joining Desperate Housewives, but it won’t be Jessica
Hecht, as previously reported. Instead, Andrea Parker will be joining Season
8 and entering Tom’s life as the new love interest that was to originally be
portrayed by the Friends alumni.

Hecht (Friends, Bored to Death) was in talks for the new character on
Desperate Housewives, but negotiations broke down on Friday, according to
TVLine. The producers apparently weren’t put out too much though because
they simply offered the part to Parker, who has previously appeared on the
small screen in a variety of shows that include The Pretender, Pretty Little
Liars, CSI: Miami, and Less Than Perfect.

Parker will be coming on-board as Jane, a woman that has the impeccable
timing of entering Tom’s life right after he and Lynette decide their
marriage is a thing of the past, but don’t feel too bad for Lynette because
executive producer Bob Daily hints at a new love-interest showing up in her
life too.

'Desperate Housewives' showrunner teases new season mystery

Desperate Housewives' executive producer Bob Daily has dropped some hints
about the mystery in the show's new episodes.

掛名製作人變成 Bob Daily 不再是櫻桃先生了

Daily told TV Line that the upcoming season, which will be the show's last,
will refer back to the start of Desperate Housewives.

He said: "There is a big reveal at the end of the first episode that ties us
back into the first season in an interesting way."

Daily also teased that the mystery will have something to do with Mary-Alice
Young (Brenda Strong), who killed herself in the first ever episode and has
since provided the show's narration.

S8E01 的結尾會以一種有趣的形式跟第一季劇情有所連結
另外第八季的主線劇情會與 Mary Alice Young 有很大的關係

Strong has recently revealed that she is looking forward to having a "bigger
presence" in the new season, but Daily clarified that Mary-Alice will not
turn up alive.

"She's dead," he said. "We're not going to mess with the DNA of the show.
We're going to pay homage to it."

Miguel Ferrer, Andrea Parker and Charles Mesure have all signed up to appear
in the final season of Desperate Housewives, which will premiere on September
25 on ABC.

'Desperate Housewives' exec 'to kill off characters'

Desperate Housewives' executive producer Bob Daily has confirmed that the
writing team is talking about killing off some of the show's characters.

Earlier this month, the drama's creator Marc Cherry confirmed that Desperate
Housewives will end after its upcoming eighth season.

Daily has now told TV Line that there is no guarantee that all the residents
of Wisteria Lane will make it to the finale.

However, he explained that he has no plans to kill off the main characters,
played by Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman.

"We feel very protective of our four main women," Daily said. "Which is not
to say that one of our [other] main, top ten characters won't bite it. We
have talked about that."

初看標題有被嚇到  不過這邊滅火了四位女主角不會死
但其他人就自求多福吧..

Daily also revealed that a time jump in the series finale "has been
discussed", saying: "Viewers have spent eight years' worth of Sundays on
Wisteria Lane and we feel like that street is a character on the show.

"And whether the women [are still there] or not, we want to give them some
kind of sense of what will be happening on Wisteria Lane in the future... and
leave them with the feeling that life goes on."

時間大躍進的梗很可能又會出現!!
不過應該會出現在季末

Housewives star Kathryn Joosten recently admitted that she is "glad" that the
show is coming to a close, although Cross described the end as "bittersweet"
and Huffman confessed that she "cried" when she heard the news.
