Webb, 33, hasn't pitched in the Majors since 2009. He won the NL Cy Young Award in 2006 with Arizona, and finished second in '07 and '08 before shoulder issues derailed his career. The right-hander injured his shoulder in his first start of the '09 season and hasn't pitched in the big leagues since. He attempted a comeback with the Rangers in 2011, but never made it out of the Minor Leagues. Webb struggled to an 0-2 record with a 9.75 ERA with Double-A Frisco, and later underwent a second surgery on his rotator cuff. Multiple teams were rumored this offseason to be interested in Webb, who had been planning another comeback attempt. Instead, Webb will officially retire after seven Major League seasons, all spent with the D-backs.
