[心得] Andre Should Be OK to Go....

連續 3 場比賽，Ethier 都遭到了 benched，這有點讓人失望。

關於 Little 的講法是：

"Minor 球季多半都在 8 月底就告終，在 major 必須多打一個 9 月的
情況下，Ethier 有些 "mentally tired" 的問題。"

這個理論聽起來還挺強壯的，不過回想一下另一個幾乎同時間和 Ethier
一起上來的 Russell Martin，且不論 C 與 LF 究竟誰的工作負擔較重
，如果 Ethier 會有 "mentally tired"，那 Martin 的表現應該就是用
藥嗑出來的了。

不過如果大家還記得 Little 對於離隊的 Izturis 的評論：

"It looks like he (Izzy) can hit .350 with his glove."

那麼針對 Ethier 的 "Mentally Fatigue" 這種 BS-Assessment 大概也不
太值得意外。再者如果 Little 的理論可以買，那 Marlins 大概要一直連
敗到季末才行...

關於 Marlon Anderson 的起用雖然有 "老將萬萬歲" 的味道，但整個 Sep.
裡，Anderson 交出了 .350/.417/.700 的 line，考慮 "Manager 應該把狀
況最好的傢伙排上來" 的話，並不能責怪 Little 的決定。

我在 8 月的時候整理了一些資料來分析 Ethier，他的 LD% 有 22% 左右，
是個相當好的數字，但如果依 tradewind 兄給我的 thumb -- 也就是打者
的 BABIP = LD% + 0.11 來看的話，Ethier 當時超過 .400 的 BABIP 就
高得太誇張了。以 Ethier 在 Sep. 僅僅交出 .138 的 AVG 來看，這或許
代表他正在 "regresses to the mean"。事實上我的資料也顯示 Ethier
當時的 BABIP 離開 NL 打者的水準有一大截的差距。假使把數字不能解
釋的部份叫做 Luck，那 Ethier 就是最 lucky 的傢伙 -- 至少在 8 月
初的時候。

但不要忽略了一件事：Ethier 是有 plate discipline 的，雖然他在 8 月
8 日 ~ 29 日間一個 BB 都沒有拿到，但是在 8 月 30 日到 9 月 15 日為
止，他已經拗了 11 個 BB，這使得 Ethier 在 Sep. 的 OBP 仍然維持在
.359 的數字。的確，Ethier 在低潮，但是他也在想辦法走出來，他的棒子
是濕掉了，但眼睛還在，"如果" 9 月以來，Ethier 的 "轉變”是 "計劃性"
的話，那這個年輕人就真的太偉大了一點！他曉得自己在沒力，所以轉而
用另一種方式為自己的 production 做補償。也因此，我們看到官網裡關
於 06 年 Dodgers 的 best trade 的 vote 裡，Ethier 這筆獲得最高的
票數 (near 70% overall)，也許我們不該意外。

Andre Ethier...似乎真的有那麼好...
