BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT (TICKER) —Brad Ausmus' "retirement" did not last long. The Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday agreed to terms on a one-year, $1 million contract with the former Houston Astros' catcher, according to a report on ESPN.com. Ausmus, 39, announced after the 2008 campaign that he was retiring from the Astros, but would play for a small number of teams - with the Dodgers being among those that he would consider. Renowned for his ability to handle pitchers, Ausmus will serve as the backup to All-Star Russell Martin on Los Angeles. Ausmus is a .251 career hitter with 79 homers and 596 RBI. The 17-year veteran spent the past eight seasons with the Astros. http://0rz.tw/ALjMp -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.171.144.53
