Trading rumors ByPE Sports on July 26, 2009 3:32 PM http://0rz.tw/LEaIG Dodgers manager Torre has made no secret that the Dodgers are hoping to get better - especially, he confirmed, on the mound - by the end of the trading deadline. There certainly could be more to talk about than Roy Halladay, of course. Nonetheless, Dodgers officials are denying any truth to reports that the club was in discussions with the Cleveland Indians about a deal that was alleged to include James Loney, a young pitcher and prospects for Indians' left-hander Cliff Lee and catcher Victor Martinez. What remains to be seen is whether Sunday's woeful pitching effort -- Jason Schmidt and Jeff Weaver combined to give up eight runs through four innings -- will increase the urgency to shore up a largely inexperienced, hardly automatic pitching corps. "We have the same desire to try and make this team better," Torre said. "It's a point where we know what we'd like to have, but, again, what's the price tag? Is it going to spring a leak somewhere else?" -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.46.193.80
