Phils, Dodgers both want Castro — 12:10 p.m.
One month after playing one another in the National League Championship
Series, the Phillies and Dodgers are pursuing the same utility player: Juan
Castro.
Castro's agent, Oscar Suarez, told FOXSports.com Tuesday that both teams are
interested in the 37-year-old infielder.
Castro, who has been in the big leagues for all or part of 15 seasons, batted
.277 for the Dodgers in 57 games this year. He started games at shortstop,
third base and second base and appeared in two games as a left fielder,
according to Baseball-Reference.com.
The Phillies view Castro as an alternative to replace utility man Eric
Bruntlett, who isn't likely to return.
