Dodgers looking for bullpen help?

After losing for the eighth time in ten games Sunday night, the Dodgers may
be in the market for some bullpen help.  The Dodgers entered the ninth inning
leading the Yankees 6-2 with their closer Jonathan Broxton taking the mound.

48 eight pitches later and the half-inning ended with a 6-6 tie.  The Yankees
would then take the lead and win the game in the 10th on a 2 run home run by
Robinson Cano off of George Sherrill.

GM Ned Colletti has been asked if he is looking to upgrade the bullpen by
trading for a reliever.

“Always depends on who is coming in and who is going out,” he said.

There will be some relievers available.  Names such as Kerry Wood, Kyle
Farnsworth, Octavio Dotel, D.J. Carrasco, Brendon Donnelly, and Javier Lopez
may be on the block.  Other names to watch out for are David Aardsma, Brandon
League, Brandon Lyon, Matt Lindstrom, Kevin Gregg, and Matt Capps.

The Dodgers have already made it known that they are in the market for a
starting pitcher.  They do get Chad Billingsley back from the disabled list
on Monday to start against the Giants.  However, Joe Torre has hinted that
the Dodgers are not focusing in on just one area to upgrade.  That probably
means that Colletti is already doing his homework and trying to find another
arm to support Torre’s best bullpen options in Broxton, Ronald Belisario,
and Hong-Chih Kuo.
