This program will introduce students to DAC and the design automation profession through meetings, tours, and by association with a mentor who is an advanced graduate student already working in the area. Student Award DAC will pay the student registration fee, a banquet ticket, and $100 for students applying from Southern California $300 for students applying from Northern California/Oregon/Washington/Nevada/Arizona $500 for students applying from overseas or other US states for partial coverage of the travel expenses for the students. The awardees are required to attend an organizational meeting in Anaheim, CA and submit a one-page report describing their experience at DAC. The location and timing of the organizational meeting will be announced later. Mentor To organize this effort, we also need student mentors. Student mentors are advanced graduate students who are already working in the DA field and volunteer to bring in qualified students from their university or college and act as tour guides for these students at DAC. The student mentors will receive the same award as the student awardees. How to Apply Candidate students must be recommended by a professor in the DA profession. The professor must provide a reference letter for the student stating that he/she is enrolled in a major suitable for DA profession, is considering working in the DA profession, or will benefit professionally by attending DAC. The professor should also commit to help the student make arrangements for transportation and lodging at the conference site. The student should in turn provide a brief (2 pages maximum) biography and a short statement outlining his or her goals and objectives. Please include the postal address and a day-time phone number as well.
