Nuremberg striker Robert Vittek was recalled to Slovakia's squad on Monday
for their Group 3 qualifiers against Portugal and Luxembourg after missing
the last two games through injury.
Vittek, Slovakia's most prolific scorer in their first six qualifiers with
five goals, had knee surgery following an injury in early March.
Coach Dusan Galis said a decision on whether Vittek would be able to play
in Portugal on Saturday would be made after further consultation with the
team doctor. Slovakia travel to Luxembourg for their next game on 8 June.
Slovakia lie second in Group 3 on goal difference behind Portugal,
both teams having earned 14 points from six games.
"We still have a chance to qualify, and none of us want to take anything
lightly in our preparations," Galis told reporters. "We are in a good
position and are taking our next two matches very seriously."
