Derive a version of the "tax multiplier" from the simple closed economy national income identity Y=C+I+G, and explain its relevance, if any, for the debate over the public finances (debt, deficits, etc.). Will the multiplier have a defferent value in the short-run versus the long-run? How does this affect the debate?
