One of nature's most impressive creatures,
swifter than a dolphin and as bold as a great white shark,
the giant bluefin has not been able to outswim its greatest threat -- humans.
This warm-blooded giant crosses whole oceans at will
and may journey perhaps a million miles in a lifetime.
Says deep sea explorer Sylvia Earle,
"The ultimate fish has to be the bluefin tuna, those creatures that can
power their way across whole ocean basins. That has to be the supreme
creature for life on earth."
Voyage to the depths of the ocean, where scientists capture a virtual
school of small young bluefish in order to learn how to preserve bluefin
populations.
