想請教下面兩句話語意上的不同(還是沒有差別)?

1. John voted for David, "so" did his wife.

中文: John投給David, 他的太太也是如此.



2. John voted for David, "as" did his wife.

中文: John 投給David, 而他的太太也是如此(?)

as is/was/does
-what you have said is also true of someone or something else.
