[請益] stand up的疑問

我在做題目時有一句：


Michael was upset when he found out that his friends stood him up on purpose.


裡面的stood up感覺是一個片語

所以stand up 除了起立的意思之外,還有其它意思嗎?

這句話怎麼翻譯比較好呢?
