標題[文法] 這兩個句子

1. Some people think it matters where you were born in your family.
it , matters 在句子扮演什麼?
2. The animal lived high on a mountain peak over which a road passed.
over 是介係詞吧??
後面的是子句嗎?
3. They just wave as my parents pass through the lobby on their way back to
my office or exam rooms.
pass through前要應該要加個什麼吧?
我沒辦法完全了解它們的意思,就拆開分解,但分不好,
我想了解句子的結構
