最近在做學習出版社所出的文法練習題1000題時，
發現有幾個問題完全不懂，且這些過去沒學過而書
上又無詳解，所以想請教版友。
1 He was to have dined with us yesterday.
2 Father is to arrive in London next week.
= Father is due to arrive in London next week.
第一句，他的翻譯是他昨天沒和我們用餐，也就是他想要確沒有。
第二句則是我完全不懂他所表達的，是因為 be due to 可以省略
成 be to嗎？
