[文法] 一些文章上看到的文法問題

最近看文章發現裡面有些句子的文法架構不是很懂。
煩請板上高手指點一下，感謝。

Tilte: Array to inverter matching

Question:

1.Exceeding the maximum inverter operating voltage can result in

catastrophic failure of the inverter and could.

在and 之前都看得懂 最後加了一個 and could這是什麼意思？而且and前後的

時態不一致。以前老師都教我們說and是對等連接詞，為什麼可以這樣用呢？

2. A good first step for designers is to determine the temperature

differential for their site, in this case the low temperature differential.

我比較好奇的是在這個句子當中differential的用法。在這裡如果我把differential

換成different意思會不同嗎？在逗號之後似乎是一個不完整的句子，這樣的用法是可以

的嗎？應該要怎麼翻譯？為了避免遺漏其他訊息我把這一段的下文也附加如下。

In our example the record low temperature for the site is 0 degree C, whcih

is a differential of -25 degree C form Standard Test Condition (STC). As cell

temperature dorps, output voltage increase. This effect is described by the

appropriate temperature cofficient which in this case is given as a percentage

of Voc.

這一段的另一個問題是如果關代前面有一個逗號那麼該關代的先行詞是不是就是

逗號之前的名詞子句？

3. Over the life of the system, the value of energy lost due to invrter power

limiting or increased system inefficiency quickly outweighs the value lost by

operating the inverter at slightly less than its rated output.

這句應該要怎麼翻譯？在or increased之後就遇到了一大堆名詞。這樣的句子結構

應該要怎麼去解析呢？

→ dunchee:1. could後頭的是逗號，不是句號。後頭還有，你漏看了
→ dunchee:(不然就是你的資料在copy&paste時出錯。原出處paper

→ dunchee:2. "temperature differential"是一起的。differential你
→ dunchee:查一下字典(特別是詞性的部份)
→ dunchee:"這一段的另一個問題是...."-> 有可能，不是一定。要看整
→ dunchee:體意思來判定，不要只看文法術語表面/湊文法規則
推 evilove:differential 跟 difference有什麼差別呢？
