家教的學生前幾天在上某大學推廣部的英文課
老師說一分錢一分貨的英文是
One dollar, one item.
老師是major in English in US
請問這是很美式的說法嗎?
我的英籍朋友說他從來沒聽過這種說法
他說在英國是說 If you pay a peanut, you'll get a monkey.
他說或許這是很美式的說法
那為什麼不是 You get what you pay. (還是這會被翻譯成一分耕耘一分收穫)
So, is it the American thing?
