[請益] 劣等比較 less + 非單音節形容詞原形

請教各位先進

某天原PO在備課，在網路上發現一個規則

A be V less + 非單音節形容詞原形 + than B
              ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

這個部分以前老師好像沒有提過...

and

它又繼續提到 less 不接-y結尾的形容詞原形...
                  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

這個部分我也沒印象老師曾提過...

在Longman Advanced American Dictionay 中查less 這字

例句有:

Tickets were less expensive than I expected.
                  ^^^^^^^^^

We go to movies less often than we used to.
                     ^^^^^
其中 expensive 和 often 都非單音節

但字典上並未提及上述兩條用法，請問各位先進這個用法是對的嗎?
