[考題] face跟encounter的問題

考題：一般


題目： A number of tech titans are facing a tough situation when confronted
                                                                 __________
       with the possibility of retirement.
      （1）   faced  （2）encountered  （3）opposed  （4）instilled



提問：答案是1  請問為何不能用2呢
      是差在能不能接with嗎? 可是查字典兩個都有不接with的用法
