[文法] Snoopy:I could make a swim 假設語氣?

Snoopy的狗屋四周淹水，牠說了以下這段話：

Where are my rescuers?

I could make a swim for it, but that might
give the impression that I had no faith in
my eventual rescue.

請問這段話是假設語氣嗎? 單純是牠的想法，但
不會真的做? 麻煩板友賜教了?
