[單字] fish的單複數

[afemia (faith)]

There _____ a lot of fish in the pond.

請問空格要填 is 還是 are ?


在我的認知裡面
fish是單複數同形
所以不管是一條魚還是兩條魚 都是用fish
例如 a fish, two fish

看過一個例句

Fish are cold-blooded.
     ^^^
所以若是複數的fish 就要用複數的be動詞


fish當"魚肉"時才是不可數名詞

這麼說這一格應該要填are

而fishes指的是不同種類的魚


不知道這樣講有沒有錯誤?
