我是這麼教學生的：
橘子要拿來跟橘子比，不能跟蘋果比。
我們來翻：
「台灣的天氣比日本好。」
The weather of Taiwan is better than Japan.
上面這句是錯的，因為我們把「台灣的天氣」拿來跟「日本這個國家」來比了。
必須用到「指定代名詞」 - 單數that，複數是those。
因此正確答案是：
The weather OF Taiwan is better than the weather OF Japan.
套上指定代名詞
The weather of Taiwan is better than THAT of Japan.
我們只有將weather換掉，of是不能省去的。
