[文法] being called 和 called 的不同

請問板友們 :

1. The system will have a timer based interrupt which results in the scheduler
   being called at regular intervals.

2. The system will have a timer based interrupt which results in the scheduler
   called at regular intervals.

請問 1跟2 的句子中, 1用了being called, 2用了called, 請問到底有何不同 ?

我知道2的 called 是 : scheduler (which is) called at...

called 是用來描述scheduler的子句, 關係代名詞which is 被省略了.

但是 being called 就看不懂了 ? (每次只要出現being我就覺得怪怪的...)
