[請益] fame and reputation

兩者在翻成中文釋義後, 都具有名聲, 名譽的意思,
請問在使上用有什麼差別嗎?

像是台灣大學84轉學考試題中

 11.He has an excellent _____ as a criminal layer.

   A)popularity B)fame C)regard D)reputation

這題該怎麼選呢?

→ priv:因為會說excellent reputation，不會說excellent fame
→ priv:但是老實說如果寫出來也不能算錯
