這句要這樣看:
The dearth of [A] eemplifies [B] as well as [C].

The dearth of 如果你去查網路英文字典,
他會說the dearth of XX = lack of XX = 缺少 XX
所以上面那句便成: 缺少A(的情況)examplifies B 和 C
examplify = to serve as an example
所以句子變成: 缺少A(的情況) 為後面的兩件事舉例 (有點像證明了那兩件事)

再來看A = identified compounds active against M abscessus
重點是A是指那個compound
怎樣的compund? active against M abscessus 並且已被identified的compound

B的話
its = compound's (指前句提到的coupound)

C的話
resilience = The ability to recover quickly
誰的ability? rapidly growing NTM
至於NTM是什麼應該算是專有名詞的部分 我不在你這行 我就不知道了


小建議:
查單子時儘量用英英字典並看例句
因為中英字典有時不能完全翻譯出真正的意思
看例句才能知道是怎麼用的 才能去解析你原本的句子
