[請益] in the least

[easterday (....)]

這是單字書上predecessor的例句
ex. His predecessor quit because he was not (in the least) interested
in this kind of job.
中文: 他的前任因對這種工作一點也沒興趣,所以離職了

這句如果沒有in the least三個字,我的翻譯就會跟中文一樣...
但是
(1) 這裡least是little的最高級嗎?
(2) 所以 not ... least是不是雙重否定呢 ?
(3) 所以 in the least 是甚麼意思?

所以這句要怎麼分析比較好?
