標題[資訊] 數學的英文唸法

看到有人問一些數學的英文唸法
我就想說來開個貼詳細的說一下不同表達式的念法好了
不等式:
大於:greater than
大於或等於:greater than or equal to
小於:smaller than
小於或等於:smaller than or equal to
不等於:not equal to
運算:
加:plus
減:minus或者subtracted by(譬如三減四=3 subtracted by 4)
乘:times或者multiply by(譬如三乘四=multiply 3 by 4)
除:by或者divided by或者over(譬如三除四可以說3 by 4或者3 divided by 4
或者3 over 4)
等於:equals
二次方:squared(譬如three squared equals nine)
三次方:cubed(譬如three cubed equals twenty-seven)
如果是其他次方的 就不會用簡稱了
n次方:to the power of n(譬如3的五次方=three to the power of five)
平方根:square root of
三次方根:cube root of
n次方根:the n-th root of (譬如三的五次方根=the fifth root of three)
因為n次方很常用的關係 所以也有很多簡稱
譬如可以說除了3 to the power of 5 之外
還可以說成3 to the 5
甚至是3e5也可以
其中的e是代表exponentiation 也就是取冪
不過e不建議說 可能會引起誤會
基本運算大概就這樣吧?

推 tungpayton:平方根也有簡稱 如根號五 可以簡稱root five 04/13 04:38

→ asdsasd123:上面那個分數的有一點寫錯 1/3是one-third 可是2/3會 04/13 15:44
→ asdsasd123:變成two-thirds 總之分子不是1的 後面都要加s複數 04/13 15:45
