小弟不才，這在問一下國一程度的翻譯

以下是我的翻譯


中：他有200公分高，他可以在空中跳100公分高.

英：He is two hundred centimeters tall,

    he can jump one hundred tall in the air.


請問我用 in the air 是對的嗎?

之前在某期的常春藤雜誌中有聽到一句

I can almost smell and taste the Chinese New Year coming up.

Chinese New Year is coming, you can feel it in the air.

在這裡是指某個節慶要到了，這些氣氛都瀰漫在空氣中

請問這兩種空中是一樣的嗎?

推 tengharold:1) 某物的高度可用 tall，但純粹高度一定用 high
→ tengharold:e.g. the giant/building/castle is 10m tall/high
→ tengharold:BUT I can jump 10m HIGH, the ball went up 10m HIGH
→ tengharold:2) one hundred CENTIMETERS
→ tengharold:然後你講話會說"他能跳一米高"還是"他能跳一百公分高"?
→ tengharold:所以這裏會改成 a meter high
→ tengharold:3) in the air 在此是贅詞，但擺在這也沒差
→ tengharold:所以正確說法是：he can jump a meter high.
