eventuality = a contingent event

e.g. Raining is an eventuality that one has to plan for
     while preparing a picnic.

it indicates some (rather adverse) event that may happen.
usually it is translated as '萬一' in Chinese.

your rewrite of the sentence basically removes the
'contingent' part of the meaning.

推 l10nel:形容詞 contingent 並不含負面、災禍、不幸 adverse 之意。
→ l10nel:in such an eventuality = in such a contingency event =
→ l10nel:in such a possibility = in the event (that) Tsai wins =
→ l10nel:in case Tsai wins 等，都可以代換，意思都只是「如果」，
→ l10nel:其發生機率也不一定低到百分之一，甚至「萬一」（萬分之一)
→ l10nel:，所以慣用「萬一」翻譯 eventuality 並不妥。
