讀英文讀者文摘看到兩個形容詞的位置 覺得有點疑問

1.Studies have shown that lutein, a nutrient abundant in spinach,

  may prevent age-related macular degeneration.


這裡 是不是 a nutrient (which is) abundant in spinach.......??

省略了which is ???


2.Thanks to the diagnosis, the teacher can now take the steps necessary

  to control the condition.


  這裡的necessary 前面是不是省略了 which are ????
