[請益] wake的意思

在 Taipei Times 閱讀一篇關於企業投資的文章

其中一句話實在不懂意思


它的上一句是:

China has attracted Taiwanese investments by offering attractive policies.

接著不懂的是:

Since investments are productive in nature, technical talent has followed

in their wake.


我對這句的解讀是:

因為投資是會在自然方面產生利益的，科技的人才已經跟隨著他們的"痕跡"(or"覺醒"?)


不了解wake在這邊的意思

還是我的理解有問題QQ

因為沒有看過wake這樣的用法
