The notion that femininity is a masquerade, or a matter of acting out a role,
was originally advanced by Joan Riviere in 1929. The idea of a masquerade is
often invoked in protests against the compulsion to conform to masculine

(1)查了字典其他選項的意思，但還是不知道要怎麼判答關鍵在哪，
是因為下一句提到 Observing the behavior of a particular “type”嗎?
(A)transformation變形；轉變；轉化 (C) mediations 協調
(D) stereotypes 刻板印象
(2)把正答放入後，整句又要怎麼翻呢? The idea of a masquerade is often invoked in protests
