怕有人不明白，贅述一下：be used to hardly working 意思是「習慣沒什麼工作的生活
」，即 be used to almost not working; be used to not working much。hardly 副詞
主要意思「幾乎不」，必須放在動詞前修飾，不像大多副詞的預設位置多在動詞後。
很納悶為何會認為 be used to hardly working 是 Chinglish？一個可能或許是把它和
be used to working hardly 混淆吧？後者才是不折不扣的 Chinglish，可以想見，初
學者不諳 hardly 的特殊意思和用法，錯誤套用「副詞字尾通常加 -ly」和「副詞通常放
在動詞後」雙重規則，於是，想表達「賣力工作」 working hard 時，就寫出 working
hardly，這才是 Chinglish。除了這個可能之外，實在想不通還有什麼其他原因。
反之，be used to hardly working 一點問題也沒有，文法沒錯，表達也簡潔、自然。一
個中式英文表達方式必定有它不合宜、自然，甚至文法錯誤處，那麼請教這句話錯在哪裡
，請指出來。

文不是母語、滿口中式英語的人？哪一個人像是會在中文環境長期浸淫下寫出受中文影響
的中式英文？放眼望去，這些人雖不是英語作家，至少也是講英語長大的人，搞不好英語
還是他們唯一的語言。你難道要告訴他們，他們說的「不是英文」？
另外一點：在英語裡，人們對於 hardly working 這兩個字的組合，表示「幾乎不工作」
，或許會青睞有加，這是因為 working hard 和 hardly working 雖然形似，意義卻幾乎
完全相反，任何人運用語言到了一定程度，都自然會不時採用這樣的對仗。說好聽是讓語
言文字生色，說難聽就是陳腔濫調。從這角度看，搜一下 "working hard" AND "hardly
working"，可以找到成千上萬筆資料，這反映人們一逮到機會，就要把這兩個詞組用在同
一句話裡，如：
Are you working hard or hardly working? 你是在賣力工作，還是在賦閒偷懶？
From working hard to hardly working 「從勤奮工作到找不到事做」，可能就是一則文
章標題，探討在經濟衰退下的失業問題，或者自願不工作的退休生活。
還認為 "I am used to hardly working" 是中式英語嗎？請拿出論據，不要只會亂貼標
籤。
