最近看CNN介紹林書豪訪談的一些句子，有些不是很清楚，想要請大大解答一下。

上面第二段的whether he considered himself Chinese, Taiwanese or American,

這句用了 whether ... (or not) 的句型，但上面似乎省略了 or not ，如果要補回
去，是否變成↓

whether he considered himself Chinese, Taiwanese or American or not...

但這樣補回 or not之後，我覺得好像有點怪怪的…不太符合語感。想請問
大家的意見。


另外，最後一段的Jeremy Lin ready to lift-off with Rockets的「lift-off」
我查了一些辭典，像Cambridge 高級學習字典的解釋是

noun [C or U]
when a spacecraft or rocket leaves the ground:
We have lift-off.

也就是字典是定義lift-off為「名詞」，但CNN卻是用作「動詞」，而字典是指
(火箭等)離地升空之意。是否CNN若用作動詞的話，
應把 lift-off 去掉連字號，改為 lift off 才對？

推 ntust661:我覺得 ready 前面缺少 be 耶0.0
推 linzh:可能因為是headline所以省略be verb也說不定
→ linzh:這邊的whether我覺得是indicating choices or possibilities
→ linzh:而且因為跟是否之類的相反選擇無關 所以不需要加or not

→ ewayne:OALD也將liff-off做名詞解，但也給這個例句：
→ ewayne:ten minutes to lift-off.
