各位大大好，小弟最近在看CNN NEWS 有些疑問想發問…
1.The meeting stands in recess subject to the call of the chair.
光看字面我大概知道意思是 「主席有權取消這場會議。」
想問黃字部分 為什麼是用 stand呢? 有特別的意思嗎?
2.This is where the surge came because Katrina(指颶風) missed New Orleans just
to the east, and the surge came this way, into the canals, and that`s what
made that levy breech.
想問黃字部分 levy breech 是什麼意思呢 查不太到耶>___<
